Last week end saw the last of this years club rallies, it was the first Welsh Merlin Rally ll held near Swansea, the forecast was not the best and South Wales in October always a risk but some chose to take the risk.
I set off Saturday morning as I was working and would not have gotten down there till the small hours, I met the boys and girls on the ride out at Llandovery, a town we visited from the Severn Valley Rally, it was a wet and misty ride back to camp over the Brecon Beacons with a quick stop at M and P, an amazing bike shop with incredible stock from 80s and 90s bikes and up to the the present day with a H2R there on display, a huge clothing floor and the best thing for the riders a bit of warmth.
A few beers back at the camp and talk was of the meal provided by Neil Friday, faggots, mushy peas and mash with a side order of hot dogs, kind of wish I’d been there Friday !! Saturday was in the club house for chicken and chips and a few local ales, the Delilah had run out Friday, another reason to get there early next year, a few drinks and it was bed, still raining, it did not let up the morning after and the tents were packed wet with Neil cooking bacon sandwiches to cheer everybody up.
All too soon it was time to say goodbye after for me not enough time there, awesome Rally, it may move dates next year, watch this space, or not ……..
the new website is in viewing mode and we are putting some finishing touches to it before it goes live, we are nearly there and will be a lot more interactive.
